'Sense'(2005) is about displacement, a sort of cosmopolitan film-noir.'My clothes were all wrong...nothing made sense' the narrative voice is neither american nor european, nomadic and lost in a search for meaning and belonging. New York City, and the country roads of rural New England are a backdrop for a poetic journey of dystopic longing, concluding in Venice Italy, a decaying Europe of waterways and buildings blurred and monochrome. A musical mishmash provides a soundtrack, samples and fragments of song and sound, overlaid with the narrative voice, punctuating the subtitles that frame the varied landscapes.
